Artists' Books and Journals

I have been interested in the concept of Artists books for many years and run a unit on this in my classes each year. No book is the same and my work is found in private collections. Featured are a selection of my creative books.

I am available to give workshops on Journaling or sketchbook art for art and textile groups plus workshops on the making of simple books for this process, as well as more elaborate creative artists' books. contact barbaraj

JOURNALS

COLLABORATIVE JOURNALS

In 2003 Kirry Toose and myself entered the world of Collaborative Journalling by developing this 'newish' form of Art with a group of Artists around Australia. This has led to many offshoots and many groups. In 2004 after leading a creative book making workshop I started another collaborative with group of Canberra Art Teachers. We called ourselves 'cataboners' after the book folding tool and CATA. This group held an exhibition of our creative books in 2008 and we are due to commence our third round of Collaboration in December 2008. This will be called 'out of the box'. Shown is my art work from a collection of pages from these Journals.
